New National Minimum Wage Rates Announced
New National Minimum Wage rates announced
Following the Low Pay Commission’s recommendations, the Government has announced that from 1 April 2022, the National Living Wage and the National Minimum Wage rates will increase as follows:
· National Living Wage – from £8.91 to £9.50
· 21-22 Year Old Rate – from £8.36 to £9.18
· 18-20 Year Old Rate – from £6.56 to £6.83
· 6-17 Year Old Rate – from £4.62 to £4.81
· Apprentice Rate – from £4.30 to £4.80
However, for some employers moving staff to the new minimum wage rate will have an impact on your next level of staff and increasing to the new minimum rate in 2022 will mean that you will then lose the differential that you had originally built in.
