Running a successful business requires determination, commitment, energy – and a great PA or secretary – something that we are encouraging all businesses in South Cumbria and North Lancashire to recognise.
This special person’s job title might not necessarily be PA or Secretary – it is quite simply the person who provides the day-to-day support to the business owner or manager enabling their boss to concentrate on the key task of driving the business forward.
To celebrate these often-unsung heroes of the regional economy, we are hosting theTurnstoneHR PA/Secretary of the Year Awards ceremony in February this year.
All of us out there who have one know that a great PA or secretary has the potential to make a huge difference to how effective our business is. Not only do they keep things running day-to-day, but they also help to make sure their manager’s time is time well spent.
I am fortunate to have a wonderful PA who keeps me on the straight and narrow! Claire is unbelievably organised and disciplined and her presence makes my life so much easier and she frees me up to concentrate on my role of developing the business strategy and bringing new business to the company. I absolutely know how valuable all those other PAs and secretaries out there are and I hope that this award will give them the recognition they deserve.
So, we decided to hold an awards ceremony for all PAs and secretaries in the South Cumbria/North Lancashire area, as we believe that it is important to recognise how vital their role is – and to celebrate those individuals who go above and beyond the call of duty to support their employer.
Our special celebratory lunch, which will start at 11.30am with welcome drinks, is being held at the Castle Green Hotel in Kendal.
Anne Attwood will be giving the Keynote Address relating to the importance of PAs/Secretaries to the success of businesses, after which the following awards will be made at the event.:
- PA/Secretary of the Year 2013
- Runner Up
- Best event organised by a PA/Secretary
The prize for the winner is a fabulous overnight stay in an Executive Suite at the Castle Green Hotel and an hour’s spa treatment in The Green Rooms at the Hotel (kindly donated by the Castle Green Hotel).
The runner up will receive a bottle of Champagne and the winner of the Best Event will receive a hamper full of goodies donated by Hawkshead Relish.
