Abigail Law joins TurnstoneHR for two weeks of work experience

At the CV and Interview Workshop that TurnstoneHR ran at Furness College in April, Phil was approached by one of the students who asked if she could undertake some work experience at Turnstone.

Fast forward six weeks and we welcomed Abigail Law for a two-week stint at Turnstone to put the theory she had learned whilst studying her NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration into practice.

Phil was impressed with Abi and said “She was really able to contribute and it was clear that she was able to demonstrate what she has learned and put some of that into practice in the real business world. The work we’ve given her has been of benefit both to Abi and to Turnstone.

“I’m a great believer that when you get someone in on work experience, whether it’s a full summer or just a week, you need to make sure that both parties benefit – and we have. We have provided real experience but, in turn, Abi was able to really engage with the team, taking what she has leaned and turn it into reality”.

Abi said “I have really enjoyed the experience. I’ve learned a lot about the business and how it is run. I think I’ve developed my confidence and how I deal with people as well”.

We wish Abi well with her search for employment and hope that the experience she has gained at Turnstone stands her in good stead.
