TurnstoneHR South Cumbria T20 Cup

In line with our community sponsorship ethos, we have agreed to sponsor what will now be known as the TurnstoneHR South Cumbria T20 Cup.

Following the group games the Finals Day was on Sunday 28th July. However, the gorgeous weather that had been around for a number of weeks broke on the Saturday evening bringing torrential rain. So we arrived at Furness Cricket Club at 10.30am (for an 11am start) to find the outfield was more like a duck pond. The ground staff were out with the squeegee machine and did a fantastic job to enable the first semi final to commence at 1.30pm. So, two 10-over semis resulted in a 20-over final between Millom and Haverigg with Millom taking the spoils with a 29-run victory.

Start man was Millom batsman, Lachlan Blunden, who earned the Rob Cairns Man of the Match Award with his winning knock of 82, presented by Rob himself.

TurnstoneHR’s Managing Director Phil Collier presented medals to the umpires, the defeated Haverigg team and the victorious Millom team before handing over the TurnstoneHR T20 Cup to the winning captain, Ian Swarbrick.
